OsunTutors Teacher Interview

📝 What To Expect

You will be given 10 questions:

  • 5 multiple-choice questions
Pick the best answer for each one.
  • 5 written questions
Explain your thinking the way you would to a student.

Each question is worth 1 mark, so the interview is marked out of 10.

🎯 Before You Begin

Welcome to the OsunTutors Teachers Interview.

This interview is designed to assess not only your subject knowledge, but also your ability to explain concepts clearly, reason through problems, and teach students effectively.

⭐ Tips for a High Score

  1. 1. Explain your reasoning
Don't give only the final answer. Show how you arrived at it and explain the important steps.
  2. 2. Think like a teacher
Answer as though you are teaching a real student. Make your explanation clear, understandable, and student-friendly.
  3. 3. Explain step-by-step
When solving a problem or explaining a concept, break it into logical steps instead of jumping straight to the conclusion.
  4. 4. Explain WHY
Don't only state what you would do. Explain why your approach would help the student.
  5. 5. Use examples when appropriate
A simple example can make a difficult concept much easier for a student to understand.
  6. 6. Show how you would handle difficulties
If a student doesn't understand, explain how you would identify the problem, adjust your teaching approach, and help them understand.
  7. 7. Avoid one-line answers
A short answer may not give enough evidence of your teaching ability. Give enough explanation to clearly demonstrate your approach.
  8. 8. Be clear, not unnecessarily complicated
You don't need big words or extremely long answers. Focus on clear, logical and useful explanations.
  9. 9. Answer the question asked
Read each question carefully and make sure your response directly addresses it.
  10. 10. Show, don't just claim
Instead of saying “I am a patient teacher,” demonstrate patience by explaining what you would actually do when a student struggles.

🧠 A Simple Formula

When appropriate, structure your answer using:

IDENTIFY → EXPLAIN → DEMONSTRATE → CHECK

Identify the issue → Explain the concept → Demonstrate with an example → Check that the student understands.

🏆 Remember

The interview is not only about knowing the correct answer.

It is about showing that you can turn what you know into an explanation that a student can understand.

Take your time, read each question carefully, and give thoughtful, well-explained answers.

Good luck, Tutor! 🎓
